1to1 Group are delighted to be working with a private provider based in Winchester to supply a Medical Secretary on a permanent basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting a handful of busy consultants located across various hospitals and clinics on the south coast. This is a full-time role, working either 8-4 or 9:30-5:30 Monday to Friday.
The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients’ pathway of care. You will work as part of a friendly and supportive team, providing expertise in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring a smooth process. You will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being accessible, customer-focused, and a knowledgeable point of contact, providing a consistent approach across the consultants within given timescales.
Responsibilities include:
1. Process and log all referrals.
2. Schedule new and follow-up appointments; ensure that capacity is proactively and efficiently used, booking patients into the appropriate clinic.
3. Ensure that any diagnostics and investigations required as part of the patient pathway have been sourced and that all results are available for consultations.
4. Accurately record outcomes of clinic attendances.
5. Complete clinic cancellation forms and process accordingly.
6. Liaise with clinical teams to form additional clinics in the EPR system and process efficiently.
7. Reschedule outpatient clinics as requested, ensuring possible breaches are met within specific time frames.
8. Use the Trusts’ medical transcription system to process letters in accordance with locally agreed timeframes.
9. Liaise with patients’ records staff, clinical colleagues, other administration teams, and other organisations to ensure all medical information is available for outpatient appointments and consultations.
10. Receive and respond to enquiries by letter/fax/email.
Skills required:

5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible with working hours.
7. Computer literate; confident in using Microsoft Office packages.
