Junior Activities & Children's Party Supervisor - Thames Ditton, Surrey

Department: Junior Activities Department
Working Pattern: Saturday and Sunday (weekday work available during school holidays)
Working Hours: 08:45 - 18:45 (1 hour 15 minutes lunch break)
Colets childcare offers a unique opportunity as a Junior Activities and Party Supervisor. This weekend role (Saturday & Sunday) is ideal for someone local or easily accessible to Thames Ditton. Additional hours may be available during school holidays at our holiday camp.
You will be responsible for the general care and safety of children in your designated area, ensuring their needs are met in an age-appropriate manner. Previous experience working with children is required.
You will act as the lead coordinator, providing support and guidance to parents leaving their children in our care.

Key responsibilities:
* Manage accidents/incidents and complete accident report forms confidently
* Set up and pack away equipment, ensuring rooms are prepared for activities (e.g., function room, swimming pool)
* Handle problems or issues to minimize disruption to sessions
* Model best practices and provide constructive feedback to team members during shifts
* Collaborate with the management team by providing feedback after each shift
* Communicate effectively with parents, demonstrating strong customer service skills
Care standards:
Operate within Ofsted Welfare Requirements, maintaining appropriate staff-to-child ratios (1:8) and ensuring DBS checks for staff.
Health and Safety:
* Lead health and safety matters during your shift
* Ensure the care, maintenance, and security of all equipment and toys
* Maintain health, safety, and security standards at all times
* Be familiar with departmental fire drill procedures
* Follow Ofsted health and safety regulations
Qualifications / Education / Training:
* NVQ Level 2 in Playwork or willingness to complete the course (desirable)
* First Aid certification (preferable, training provided)
* Child protection & safeguarding training (preferable, training provided)
Experience:
* Experience working with children aged 4-12 years
* Experience dealing with parents and customers
Knowledge:
* Understanding of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage Welfare Requirements
* Knowledge of the playwork industry
