**Personal Assistant - CB1**
**£16.50 per hour**
English speaking female client requires personal assistant - 11.5 hours per week, £16.50 per hour.
Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle to support with appointments and help me in accessing the community.
You will need to live in or around Cambridge as I require consistent and reliable support.
Qualifications and Work Experience:
No specific qualifications or work experience however, having familiarity with neurodiversity would be a benefit.
About the Service User:
I am a 68-year-old female who experiences dizziness, nausea, and muscle stiffness due to several neurological health conditions (having endolymphatic hydrops and Meniere's disease. I also experience pain in hips from fibromyalgia.
I hope to attend exercise classes and to access facilities in the community with
PA support. I am a retired teacher I love writing especially around the fields of ADHD and dyslexia.
I would like a confident, friendly and social person that embodies the skills of: listening, observing, motivating and organisation.
No preference to gender (as no intimate tasks are required) but someone who has a warm, approachable manner and the ability to drive in order to help me feel more connected to the community.
Support with social outings and accompanying me on medical appointments. Help with getting my cats to the vet if needed.
Establish a close working relationship on a one-to-one basis.
I am looking for a person who can work with me not for me, and you should be able to use your initiative.
Someone who enjoys being active, who has the skills to give me support with promoting my independence.
Some knowledge and experience with working with people within their homes would be useful.
You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high-quality care, be able to work flexible hours (important due to hospital appointments) and be a good communicator, be hardworking, reliable, committed, honest, and trustworthy with cheerful a sense of humour.
Job Description
Some cleaning/shopping. No personal care.
Flexibility is important due to hospital appointments.
Support with everyday chores, laundry maintaining the domestic environment to the required standard and shopping, needs may vary on a daily basis.
Going out into the community for a coffee.
Support with social outings and accompanying me on medical appointments. Help with getting my cats to the vet if needed.
Establish a close working relationship on a one-to-one basis.
You must be a car owner/car driver, as you would be supporting with hospital/GP appointments.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required. This is to check for any previous criminal records.
All relevant training will be provided. This may be hoist safety, medication administering or food hygiene training as needed.
