Job Summary
To direct, supervise and support Supply Chain staff in carrying out Supply Chain functions, making full use of returned in-date/redundant stock from all areas, liaising with Clinical staff to minimize waste costs.
Support the Procurement savings plan through analysis of stock levels in all areas to ensure support for Patient Care. Work independently across the supply chain function, seeking senior support only when required. Provide operational and analytical support to Supply Chain projects and approve supply chain expenditure to support service improvement, inventory reduction, and efficiency.
Main duties of the job
1. Actively carry out role as part of the Supply Chain Management team.
2. Ensure efficient & effective use of all supply chain resources.
3. Accurate accounting of Returns including out of date and quarantine stock.
4. Responsible for data integrity, analysis, recommendations, and provision to end user and contracting team.
5. Provide expert advice and guidance on the interpretation and effective use of data for quotation and contract requirements.
6. Support inventory level reduction, Trust wide.

Job Description
Job Responsibilities
1. Utilise specialist technical skills with data analysis and statistical software packages; providing advanced analytical support, interpretation, and communication of complex analytical results to support supplier selection, financial outcomes, and contract awards.
2. Analyse Trust product usage to allow informed decisions on supplier selection, quantities required, levels of stock required per location, and bulk buying opportunities to generate contracted savings outcomes.
3. Monitor supplier compliance for contracted delivery times and product compliance. Produce data to support supplier contract review meetings.
4. Manipulate data to produce reports using formulas, pivot tables, charts, and graphs to present information to clinical colleagues to maximize space and stock levels.
5. Undertake trend analysis and forecasting.
6. Work alongside the Head of Supply Chain to continually review current practice and implement improvements, managing internal operations and resources to enable the delivery of Supply Chain Strategy.
7. Monitor and update SOPs as required to support service change/improvement.
8. Ensure any variation in data quality is brought to the attention of the Head of Supply Chain.
9. Manage change throughout the supply chain process, promoting and implementing standardisation (GS1).
10. Responsible for raising and approving orders within supply chain function budgets to support service improvement.
11. Responsible for approving Trust wide expenditure for all materially managed areas, including warehouse, wards, and theatre stock locations.
12. Liaise with Procurement Systems team on all Genesis and Oracle issues.
13. Manage the removal of out of date, quarantine, and obsolescent stock from all inventory areas.
Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
* Demonstrable experience of supervising a supply chain team, including deputising.
* Demonstrable ability to maintain and enhance effective working relationships at all levels.
* Demonstrable ability to set and audit standards.
* Proven knowledge of contract law, either through qualifications or experience.
Qualifications
* NVQ3 level Purchasing & Supply Chain (or equivalent demonstrable experience).
* Working towards Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Foundation (or demonstrable experience).
