We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and committed individual to join the Portfolio Management Office (PoMO) for the Mid Wales Growth Deal (MWGD).
This is an exciting opportunity to drive forward a £110m capital investment from the UK and Welsh Government in a £300m+ portfolio of key investments that will significantly enhance the regional economy in partnership with the private sector.
About the Role
As the Programme Support Officer, you will perform a range of activities to support the delivery of the MWGD’s two programmes (Digital and Sites & Premises) and the Portfolio’s projects. You will enable the smooth running of the Programmes by supporting the team’s 3 Programme Managers through the operation of programme management processes and the coordination of business management actions and activities on their behalf.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning and Scheduling: Work with the Portfolio Planner and their team to ensure systems are in place to enable effective planning and scheduling, and that operations are consistent across the Portfolio.
* Monitoring and Reporting: Manage programme controls, reporting to the Programme Managers about programme status. Develop and complete programme/project performance reports, presenting statistics and researching new information.
* Admin: Ensure organisational tasks are carried out efficiently. Manage compliance of the Programme with Corporate Policies around Security, Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Business Continuity, and Business Planning.
* Resources: Support the Programme Managers to identify, develop, and deploy resources. Review resource utilisation and performance to support effective decision-making. Procure supplies and services related to programme support within Delegated Financial Authority limits.
* Stakeholder Management: Manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and act as a lead point of contact for some external parties. Draft and sign-off correspondence.
* Financial Control: Monitor programme spend and contribute to the compilation of budgets and the development of the business case. Ensure an accurate asset register is maintained.
* Risks and Issues: Manage potential risk areas, working with risk managers and escalating as appropriate. Maintain risk and issue logs.
* General: Undertake other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post, commensurate with the post holder’s salary, grade, and ability.
