Interim Year-End Accountant – Drive Audit Excellence & Financial Compliance!

We are seeking an Interim Year-End Accountant to support our finance team during a crucial period of audit and financial reporting. This role is vital in ensuring a smooth year-end process, working across finance and non-finance teams to deliver high-quality financial statements and compliance with regulatory requirements.
This is a fixed term contract until the end of September 2025. It offers the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis at one of our Woking or London campuses; alternatively, we will also consider remote working from a UK base.
As our Interim Year-End Accountant, you will:
* Lead the successful delivery of the Group’s annual financial statement audit.
* Prepare the Group Consolidation File and coordinate all audit deliverables.
* Manage responses from finance and non-finance teams for audit requests.
* Oversee the preparation and review of Group and Subsidiary financial statements.
* Ensure compliance with IFRS, OfS, and other regulatory disclosure requirements.
* Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to manage corporate tax computations.
* Review month-end revenue recognition and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Develop technical accounting papers and financial models for strategic decision-making.
* Support the Finance Director and Financial Controller with internal audits and financial planning.
Is this you?:
* Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA) with extensive audit experience.
* Experience in preparing and managing annual accounts for a medium-sized company.
* Strong ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly with senior stakeholders.
* Advanced Excel skills; experience with Unit 4 / Agresso is a plus.
* Previous experience in the higher education sector is desirable but not essential.
