Your role in elevating the East Midlands In this brand-new role as our Internal Communications Lead, you will create and deliver effective communication plans across all directorates. You'll develop strategies for internal programmes and campaigns, lead projects like intranet enhancements, and deliver content that supports EMCCA's priorities. This role offers the chance to develop your skills, lead key projects, and engage with senior stakeholders. Success requires being proactive, creative, collaborative, and passionate about internal communications. Key responsibilities include: Leading the creation and delivery of internal communications and engagement strategies for key EMCCA agendas, reaching diverse audiences through two-way communications to drive employee satisfaction. Overseeing daily internal communications content, including writing, editing, arranging photography, and design for EMCCA channels, aiming to drive engagement and support EMCCA's reputation. Managing the council's intranet development, collaborating with IT specialists and colleagues to create suitable content. Supporting the organisation and management of staff events. Producing and deliver an annual plan of regular internal communications activity. Providing advice and solutions to service managers on effective internal communications, aiming for quality standardisation across the council. Basing internal communications on insight, data, and evidence, supporting mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating effectiveness. Supporting regular activities to gather colleague opinions, working with HR and OD on analysis and reporting, and help develop corporate plans to address identified issues. Your profile: With a relevant degree or equivalent experience, you’ll possess strong strategic project and stakeholder management skills as well as a proven track record in planning and executing successful communications campaigns and engagement activities. Experience in developing, managing, and implementing internal communications plans and campaigns aligned with strategic objectives. Proven ability to use customer insight and map the customer journey to plan, deliver, and evaluate effective communications campaigns. Strong track record of building effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including councillors. Knowledge of policies, regulations, and legislation, such as GDPR. Excellent writing skills, with experience in creative and engaging copywriting and editing for various audiences. Proficient in using software to create and publish digital content across multiple platforms, including web creation, as well as experienced with computer-based information systems and employee engagement tools.
