Economic Growth Officer
Starting salary between £38,000 and £45,000 per annum
Based at King’s Court Council Office with hybrid working arrangements
We have a new and exciting opportunity to join us and be part of an invigorating period of change for King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. With a new Economic Strategy for West Norfolk recently endorsed, we need a passionate individual to join the team in a new role to assist with driving forward the area’s investment plan. Building on the significant investment and programmes like the Town Deal, Levelling Up Fund, Plan for Neighbourhoods and the Enterprise Zone, we need a specialist in economic development, to assist the authority in preparing the investment pipeline for the opportunities that may arise through government’s plans for Devolution in Norfolk and Suffolk.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Regeneration & Economic Development Team to lead the development and implementation of strategies and investment planning to drive economic growth and regeneration in West Norfolk. You will work closely with stakeholders, local businesses, government agencies, and community groups to foster a thriving economic environment in line with the West Norfolk Economic Strategy. You will have strong analytical and research skills and experience of securing and managing funding streams that have delivered investment, programmes and projects, economic development and regeneration in nature.
You will oversee economic development projects and programmes from conception, options development to completion, coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure the right skills are utilised to ensure the projects meet objectives and timelines.
You will also lead development of Business Cases, ensuring they are HM Government Green Book compliant, and to identify and apply for funding and grants to support the development and delivery of priority economic growth initiatives.
You will have experience of operating within economic development, including leading and managing diverse disciplines, successfully development strategies leading to the delivery of major economic development and regeneration projects. You will also understand the functions of Local Government with experience of working directly with member of a public sector body and the ability to provide advice to Senior Officers and Elected Members. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively independently as well as part of a team.
