Milk Education are working with a large SEND school in Middlesbrough who are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Assistant. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals with autism by implementing tailored care plans and facilitating their development in a nurturing environment. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals working across KS1 - KS2 class.
This Autism Practitioner role is to support both students and the class teacher with the day to day running of the classroom. You must be confident to support the KS1 and KS2 children working on a one to one basis and in a group capacity as and when required to do so.
Role and Responsibilities as an Autism Practitioner:
1. Supporting with Learning and Development
2. Working on a 1:1 and small group basis
3. Encouraging, Supporting and De-escalating students
4. Being involved across the curriculum, including outdoor learning, PE and Core subjects
We are looking for an Autism Practitioner that is:
1. Passionate about enabling every child to fulfil their potential
2. Able to contribute to, and work, as part of a team
3. Reliable and flexible to suit the expectations of our schools
4. Previous experience working within an educational setting
5. Creative, Pro-active and Enthusiastic Individual
6. Able to work under own initiative
7. Education related qualification preferred but not essential
