Balfour Beatty currently has an excellent opportunity for a Civils Design Manager to join our UK Construction teams in the Central Belt and the North of Scotland.
Core duties will involve supporting the site-based Buildings project teams during design development stages of building projects across Civil, Structural and Architectural disciplines.

What you'll be doing
1. Managing design proposals to meet customer needs, budget constraints, and sustainability goals
2. Ensuring safety, quality, and innovation in design and construction
3. Coordinating with internal teams, JV partners, customers, designers, and the supply chain
4. Leading the development and implementation of design deliverables programs
5. Supporting BIM integration and digital collaboration
6. Engaging with statutory bodies for planning, building control, and service approvals
7. Applying Lean construction techniques to enhance efficiency
Who we're looking for
1. Experience in design consultancy or design management within a main contracting environment
2. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work in a matrix organization
3. Understanding of site-based activities and BIM processes
4. Professional membership with a relevant institute (e.g., ICE, IStructE)
5. Valid CSCS card
6. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and industry-standard design tools
