The Home Office works to build a safe, fair and prosperous UK. We achieve this through our work on counter-terrorism, policing, fire, crime, drugs policy, immigration and passports.
Corporate and Delivery Directorate works closely with the Home Office’s policy and operational commands to enable us together to deliver the department’s priorities. The directorate is comprised of different teams and professional functions, including Commercial, Finance, People, Portfolio and Project Delivery, Security, Estates and Information and Digital, Data and Technology.
Cabinet Office Ministers have asked departments with similar business needs to align their enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and shared services arrangements. To support this alignment, five “clusters” of departments have been created, which includes the Synergy Programme.
Success of the Synergy Programme is crucial as Civil Servants rely on shared services to provide business critical tools in human resources, finance, payroll, and procurement.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the relevant experience in Payroll, Pensions and Compensation & Benefits to help drive forward this exciting challenge.
As a Payroll & Pensions Analyst you will work with the HO Synergy Payroll Lead to ensure that the Home Office and the HO Arms Length Bodies are fully engaged with the Synergy Programme to provide representation on the HO requirements for Payroll, Pensions and Compensation & Benefits.
Key Responsibilities
• Working collaboratively with the Synergy Cluster to provide representation for the HO in the convergence into a Common Operating Model for Payroll & Pensions and Compensation & Benefits.
• Support the Synergy cluster in design workshops, commissioning and working with external stakeholders in Payroll & Pensions and Compensation & Benefits elements.
• Working with the Synergy cluster members and the Systems Integrator (SI) to ensure that the correct rules are built into the ERP for all payroll, pensions, compensation and benefits based on the current HO elements in alignment with the Common Operating Model.
• Liaise with and support the HO Reward Team as and when required with MyCSP and subsequently Capita in pension matters and the migration from one administrator to another.
• Manage complex payroll queries promptly, accurately and within target timescales e.g. Overpayments/underpayments.
• Work with the Synergy cluster to keep all pensions guidance up to date.
• Support the build of a payroll reporting suite for payroll, pensions, compensation and benefits that include statutory report requirements and reports that substantiate the robustness of correct payment and deductions e.g. pension contributions for both employer and employee within the HO.
