Overview

As the Head of Business Development / Business Development Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our business development strategy and driving new business acquisition. This role offers the unique opportunity to build and lead your own sales team within the first year, while also being a hands-on manager who leads from the front. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and achieving sales targets, with a focus on the European (EU) market.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth and expand market presence, particularly in the EU.
2. Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing sales team within the first year.
3. Lead by example, actively engaging in direct sales activities and securing new business.
4. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
5. Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of products and services to clients.
7. Regular national and international travel to meet clients and attend industry events.
8. Attend meetings at our head office in Wakefield once or twice per month.
Requirements:
9. Proven track record in business development and sales, particularly within the digital payments and foreign exchange (Forex/FX) industry.
10. Experience selling digital payment solutions business to business (B2B).
11. Strong knowledge of banking, currency, and cross-border payment solutions.
12. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
13. Ability to drive and willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
14. Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
15. Experience in managing a team is desirable but not essential; we welcome candidates with a strong sales background looking to take the next step in their career.
