We are looking for a Laboratory & Process Scientist to plan and execute R&D projects, conduct chemical analyses, and develop new products while supporting their application in both laboratory settings and customer facilities. Location: Oxford Role: Full-time, Permanent Key Responsibilities Design and conduct laboratory and pilot-scale experiments. Perform analysis of water and chemical samples. Support product trials internally and at customer facilities. Interpret analytical data and produce detailed reports for internal and external use. Collect and test samples from customer trials. Develop new analytical methods and enhance existing protocols. Participate in product scale-up and optimisation for field trials. Provide regular project updates to the line manager. Conduct risk and COSHH assessments for laboratory chemicals. Ensure compliance with company policies, particularly Health and Safety. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver project goals. Build a strong understanding of relevant scientific principles and the company’s technologies. Key Requirements A self-motivated, adaptable, and team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic. Excellent analytical skills, including data handling and interpretation (Excel proficiency required). Previous laboratory experience testing water and chemical formulations. Meticulous attention to detail for accurate and reliable data recording. Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal). Willingness to learn and develop new skills. Flexibility for travel, including international trips, and occasional unsociable hours. Interest in technologies aimed at reducing industrial carbon footprints. Qualifications & Experience BSc in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline. Proven industrial experience in the chemical or related industry. Experience with ion chromatography, UV spectrophotometry, and wet chemical titrations. Knowledge of food production environments would be advantageous.
