We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Affordable Housing Leasing Agent. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the leasing process for our affordable housing community, ensuring that eligible individuals and families have access to safe and affordable housing options. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tenant Qualification and Application Processing:
o Screen prospective tenants to determine eligibility for affordable housing programs.
o Assist applicants with the completion of necessary paperwork and ensure all required documentation is submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
o Conduct background and credit checks in compliance with fair housing laws.
2. Leasing and Property Tours:
o Conduct property tours for potential tenants, highlighting the features and benefits of the affordable housing community.
o Clearly communicate leasing terms, rental rates, and any additional fees to prospective tenants.
o Facilitate lease signings and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
3. Customer Service:
o Provide excellent customer service to current and prospective tenants, addressing inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
o Establish positive relationships with residents to enhance the sense of community within the affordable housing property.
4. Compliance and Regulations:
o Stay up to date on federal, state, and local affordable housing regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws.
o Collaborate with property management to maintain accurate and organized records related to tenant leasing and compliance.
5. Marketing and Outreach:
o Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to attract eligible applicants.
o Collaborate with community organizations, local agencies, and outreach programs to promote the availability of affordable housing units.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, real estate, or a related field is a plus.
* Previous experience in leasing, property management, or a customer service-oriented role is preferred.
* Familiarity with affordable housing programs and regulations is advantageous.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in basic computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
