Responsibilities:
1. Train and direct less experienced laboratory personnel by developing and implementing training plans.
2. Review work of others for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment.
3. Set up and perform a variety of studies/analyses using appropriate instrumentation with routine and non-routine methods.
4. Conduct most processes/tasks in support of a broad portfolio of study types.
5. Critically review study documentation and suggest changes where appropriate.
6. Provide input and participate in study meetings (e.g., pre-initiation meetings).
7. Review own work for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment.
8. Deliver results within agreed timeframes, whilst recognizing changes in priorities.
9. Write, review, and revise standard SOPs.
10. Prepare results and presentations based on the work performed.
11. Participate in internal method development projects, as appropriate.
12. Act as the department process owner as required.
Minimum Requirements:
1. BSc in Chemistry or related subject.
Skills and Experience:
1. Experienced in the use of standard laboratory equipment within Physico Chemistry testing.
2. Some experience of training team members.
3. Proficiency with IT and computer software packages such as Excel.
4. Good numeracy.
5. Organized and self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative.
6. Experience of HPLC or GC detection techniques would be advantageous.
7. Strong knowledge of GLP.
