Software Program Manager - Powertrain
F1/ Motorsport
Initial 12 month contract
This amazing long term contract role for a Software Program Manager is a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise and skills with a world leading Formula 1 organisation.
You will be a key member within the team and the person that secures this position will be crucial to the success of this dynamic company on its motorsport and Advanced Technology projects. The duration of this contract is estimated to be 12 months minimum and will be inside IR35.
Purpose of the role
* Program manage the SW development process
* SCRUM Master: Lead the scrum team in using Agile methodology and scrum practices
Required Skills
* Taking ownership of the DevOps structure and deploying agile working principles throughout the development journey
* Understanding people, their preferences and their strengths and how to make the most of them. Motivating a team; leading by example, enabling and expecting action, and driving high performance
* Leading the scrum and development teams in self-organization
* Communication; clear, concise, confident, happy to speak up and challenge, reporting out high level status to facilitate decision making of the product owners
* Simplifying complexity – understanding the fine detail and being able to take a step back to translate that message to others
* Facilitating group discussions, managing and preventing conflict
Experience Required
* Expert in agile working methodology and the MS DevOps suite including the use of plug ins and management of Repos
* Influencing in all directions in order to achieve programme requirements
* Motorsport/developing technology or similar industries (e.g. first tier supplier)
* Automotive hardware and software used in modern BEV powertrain applications
Knowledge Required
* Operating in a technical environment and have an understanding of the full software development cycle for engineering applications
* Automotive hardware and software used in modern BEV powertrain applications
* Project management and communication techniques to deploy agile work practice
* Knowledge of multi-processor / multi-core applications for automotive power and motor electronics
Qualifications
* BEng/BSc qualified (2:1 minimum) in Degree level or higher in software or engineering related discipline.
* Software design and development experience using C/C++ and assembler languages
* 3+ years post graduate experience in challenging, and relevant engineering environment
* High level of MS DevOps knowledge

Success in this role will be if you...
* Take on the role of the SCRUM Master leading multiple scrum teams using Agile methodology and scrum practices
* Own and deploy agile working principle across multiple projects
* Own the DevOps environment including Repo management
* Deliver software sprints with high quality and minimal bug fix
* Enabling alignment of all key stakeholders across the value chain
* Creating programme planning to deliver to business need
* Making sure all stakeholders are aware of programme requirements
* Tracking & reporting on status vs key plan dates and technical targets
* Setting a positive tone and work to motivate all project stakeholders and team members
* Identify resources required to achieve programme targets and drive the relevant functions to provide this resource
* Supporting supplier agreements and engage suppliers early in the project development to procure required SW, licencing and evaluation hardware
