For our site in Lutterworth, we are looking for a motivated Freight Forwarding Officer to join our team. Our Freight Forwarding team is known for its strong collaboration and supportive attitude. Job Description
As a Freight Forwarding Officer, you will have a diverse role within our logistics team. Your responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining contacts with customers, shipping lines, carriers, and airlines.
* Managing, processing, and overseeing bookings from A to Z.
* Monitoring the entire logistics chain during the operational handling of orders for our customers, including sea, road, and air freight, import-export, LCL and FCL, as well as EU distribution and warehouse activities.
* Checking and coordinating shipping documents.
* Providing instructions to subcontractors and overseeing their execution.
* Ensuring timely calculations of purchases and sales in the operational system.
* Timely invoicing and supervising (junior) administrators.
* Keeping up with market developments for all modalities.
* Proactively contributing to our continuous improvement methodology.
Profile:
* At least a high school diploma; a background in logistics is a plus but not required.
* Experience in a similar role (sea, road, and/or air freight, LCL and FCL) is a bonus.
* Proficiency in English,spoken and written.
* Strong administrative skills; 80% of communication is done via email.
* Attention to detail and precision in your work.
* Ability to handle stress with a strong sense of responsibility.
* Able to work independently and effectively manage the ever-changing environment typical of logistics.
