Reporting to the Product Line Manager, the Sales Engineer will directly support both internal and external customers in the generation of technically challenging proposals with the ultimate goal of making sales and hitting sales targets. With a perfect blend of commercial and technical acumen, the Sales Engineer will strive to create packages that generate additional business opportunities for NOV ANSON by offering a tailored technical and commercially superior solution to the customer.
This role would be suited to a person with experience in a sales role within an engineering environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare and deliver detailed technical/commercial packages to customers, evaluating the customer's requirements, accurately costing the scope of supply and involvement required by the company, evaluating risk, and ensuring accurate quotations are produced which meet the customers' requirements and adhere to the company's commercial policies.
2. Support high value external customer accounts, act as point of contact to ensure excellent customer service is provided, manage current relationships and develop new ones.
3. Prioritise demand/workload to ensure deadlines are met.
4. Review of customer and industry specified technical specifications to ascertain acceptance or otherwise for each allocated project or enquiry.
5. Engage with customers to ensure the final product/package quoted meets their requirements.
6. Engage with internal/external supply chain to ensure the most competitive price and correct quality product is available.
7. Drive solutions and improvements in your daily tasks.
8. Act as a conduit of technical information between the sales team and internal departments when the handover of information is required.
9. Carry out robust contract review including holding meetings when necessary to ensure that key stakeholders are aware of requirements to prevent HSE, OTIF or quality being negatively impacted by lack of due diligence.
10. Support the Sales team in checking and/or approval of enquiry/new part creation.
11. Assist in solving customer related problems (pain) relating to design where it prevents further technical business development.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment (essential)
2. Working knowledge of design projects operating within multi-disciplinary teams (essential)
3. Working knowledge within a manufacturing environment within the Energy Industry (desirable)
4. Experience within a similar position (desirable)
5. Experience within upstream oil and gas working on high pressure valves and fittings (desirable)
6. Experience in preparation of commercial/quotation packages (desirable)
7. Commercial awareness and experience working in a sales environment (desirable)
