LABORATORY ANALYST

Temporary Contract (Could lead to permanent)
Monday to Friday 07:30am to 15:30pm
40 hours per week,
£12.50 per hour, increasing to £13.56ph after 3 months
Immediate start
Our client is seeking a LABORATORY ANALYST to join them on a temporary on-going basis. For the right candidate it could lead to a permanent position. You will be able to carry the following tasks but not limited to:
Chemical Analysis
1. Of nisin concentration (HPLC), and to ensure that all stages of production and the final product conforms to company specifications of Plant Support systems.
2. Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards Microbiological Analysis of all stages of production and the final product.
3. Ensure it conforms to company specifications of Plant Support systems
4. Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards to monitor plant hygiene to maintaining Culture Stocks
Hygiene (Technical) Audits
5. Participate in site hygiene audits to help maintain company safety and hygiene standards participate in site BBS (behavioural based safety) observational programme Meetings attend and participate in all site, SHEQ, improvement and team meetings as appropriate
Company Databases
6. Maintain all site QC databases
7. Prepare data for morning and other meetings as appropriate
8. Provide technical advice to managers with regard to laboratory derived data and its Interpretation
Candidate CV must show:
9. Either a pass degree in Food Science/Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology or a laboratory qualification to HNC/HND level with a number of years relevant experience working in food-based laboratories
10. NVQ level 3 or equivalent in science-based studies with relevant experience working in food-based laboratories will be considered.
11. Good interpersonal skills
12. Ability to perform both routine and non-routine tasks to a high degree of accuracy
Must hold:
13. Passport or Birth Certificate with proof of National Insurance
