Job brief: To operate and lead your team to ensure you are maximising the efficiency of the machine you are operating. Organising your team during production runs, set-ups, downtime occurrences and cleaning up periods. Ensuring at all times you are working safely and manufacturing a high quality product to the customer's specification. Key responsibilities: To ensure comprehensive quality checks are followed and understood to achieve compliance as a minimum with the ISO 9001 standard. To ensure environmental management procedures are followed to achieve compliance with ISO 14001 standard. To ensure all management procedures are followed in line with all our Health, Safety and BRC procedures. Responsible for cultivating a culture of sustainability in the Company. Responsible for the recording, monitoring and maintaining the progress of ESG KPI's within my area of responsibility. Housekeeping is of paramount importance and you are to ensure you are working in a clean and safe environment. You are to communicate regularly with your shift supervisor/manager and raise any issues immediately that need actioning or resolving. Company clothing must be worn at all times during the working shift and where applicable the relevant PPE must also be worn in the correct manner. To ensure you and your colleagues are working in a safe manner ensuring all safe working practices and safe systems of work are followed. You are fully responsible for the machine and the team that works with you and as such you are responsible for training your team to Company standards. All machine safety checks must be carried out and documented clearly before the operation of any machinery. You are to report immediately and fill out a T card for any relevant maintenance issues. Anything that affects Health & Safety or Quality must be rectified immediately by you, the engineering team or the supervisor on duty. To ensure you clearly understand production figures and what factors affect the production figures. You are to work closely with the Operations Manager and Shift Supervisors to continuously improve the final production figure for your respective machine. You are to ensure downtime sheets are filled out correctly and all information inputted into the PC is correct. You must report any NCR issues immediately to the Shift Supervisor and fill out the non-conformance report quantity into the PC. Any production runs where the finished quantity does not meet the customers required quantity must be communicated immediately to the Shift Supervisor and the reason why there is a shortfall. All maintenance on the machine must be carried out in a safe manner with the machine locked off at all times whilst working on it. All activities during maintenance must be carried out effectively to ensure the maintenance stoppage is productive. Report any issues found during maintenance to the engineering team immediately. Skills required: A good understanding of machine operating processes and procedures. Demonstrable achievements in a production environment role. Good basic knowledge of Carton manufacturing. Understand good Health & Safety practices. Understand internal quality and environmental systems. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritise and organise. Ability to communicate effectively within the scope of the role. Good basic computer skills.
