Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust
Do you want to be part of a rapidly developing service committed to improving the lives of Children, Young People and their families?
In a period of exciting change, South Cumbria CAMHS are looking to recruit a Band 6 RMN/RGN to their ADHD pathway. The post will be full time and will cover both our Barrow and Kendal bases. The function of the ADHD pathway is the assessment, diagnosis, initiation and titration of medication and subsequent follow-up for children and young people up to the age of 18 years. The ADHD pathway works closely with both the Crisis pathway and generic CAMHS.
The role will complement our existing ADHD pathway team of a clinical lead/Independent Non-Medical prescriber and an assistant practitioner; an element of the role will be to support with supplementary prescribing. Prior attainment of the 'Independent & Supplementary Nurse Prescriber V300' would be an advantage; alternatively, a willingness to undertake this training is required.
We are a busy, friendly service providing a range of treatment approaches to children and young people with moderate to severe and/or complex mental health difficulties. We are committed to ongoing continuous professional development of our staff.
The service operates 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and across Furness and South Lakes. A car driver is essential, as is a willingness to travel between our Barrow and Kendal bases as required.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team:
1. To take a leadership role in the delivery of high-quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of young people, their families, and carers.
2. Within a systemic and holistic framework, undertake needs-led, evidence-based, highly skilled assessments and therapeutic interventions to young people, their families, and carers who present to the service, including those as a result of deliberate self-harm.
3. Actively liaise and support robust partnership working arrangements between the CAMHS and Adult Mental Health services and community partners, as well as other key stakeholders involved with the child across agencies to develop an integrated package of care.
4. Provide a high level of generic skills and competencies and work towards the development of areas of clinical expertise within the field of ADHD, complementing other members of the team.
5. Provide clinical leadership and consultation to a skill-mixed team regarding ADHD and facilitate a culture of learning and reflective practice.
