What makes this role exciting and challenging:
The Commercial Finance Analyst will support the Senior Commercial Finance Manager and Head of FP&A and Commercial Finance in ensuring the business is financially sound, has robust accounting and reporting processes and delivers on its financial targets.
As part of your everyday responsibilities, you will:
* Support the Senior Commercial Finance Manager in month end duties such as the preparation of the Management Accounts and analysis.
* Conduct financial reporting and detailed variance analysis with commentary, with monthly reviews with key budget holders primarily focused on the central cost base and project analysis (resourcing).
* Engage in business partnering across Department Heads and PMO.
* Prepare budget and regular forecasts, ensuring alignment to strategy and targets, covering customer contracts, operating costs and capex projects.
* Perform Excel/Google Sheet modelling on ad hoc projects and requests to support the growth of the business.
* Manage P2P approvals to ensure purchase orders and invoices adhere to correct accounting policies, coding and budgets.
* Handle payment approvals.
* Conduct resource planning forecasting, analysis and project reporting.
* Engage in systems testing for general ledger upgrades.
* Adopt a proactive approach to continuous improvement in all aspects of reporting and processes.
Requirements
Key qualifications for your success:
* Proven ability to analyse and interpret large amounts of financial data and explain variances.
* Strong commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to convey complex data simply into a story.
* CIMA Qualified Accountant (desirable) or ACCA/equivalent.
* Ability to use Microsoft Office suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel essential.
* Experience with Apple Mac OS and Google Workspace is preferable but not essential.
* Knowledge of accounting systems (e.g. NetSuite/Workday Adaptive - preferable but not essential).
* Demonstrable knowledge of budgeting and forecasting.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise key deadlines.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and work independently as well as part of a team.
* Resilience to change.
