Job Description
Thomas Broadbent are advertising for a Managing Director of Broadbent Thailand, this unique role will require drive and determination to establish a strong working relationship with an established Broadbent Thailand team, range of suppliers and network of customers as well as the head office. Broadbent Thailand is required to all follow Company rules.
A summary of the role:
1) Responsible to: Board of Directors in the UK
2) Job location: Thailand
3) Title: Managing Director
4) Markets: Sugar, Petrochemical.
5) Mission: Growth & increased margins.
6) Territories: East Asia inc. Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam
also, other nearby markets such as Pakistan and Australia.
7) Responsibility: Overall control of all aspects of the business including:
a. Cash Management
b. Profit & loss.
c. Capital expenditues
d. Budgets and forecasts.
e. Resources.
f. Marketing & Sales for capital equipment & aftermarket.
g. Project planning & delivery.
8) Handover: 1 year working alongside the incumbent.
9) Business activities overseen:
a. Sale of capital equipment, spares, and service.
b. Repair and overhaul services.
c. Assembly & test of capital and repaired/refurbished equipment.
d. Creation of bills of materials.
e. Creation & modifications of designs and issue of drawings.
f. Creation of purchasing specifications and issue of purchase orders.
g. Invoicing, payments, and accounting for the company.
h. Stock management.
i. Managing project budgets, project planning and maintenance of records.
j. Liaising with head office on standards, quality & procedures.
10) Scope: As well as being a business administrator, the Managing Director must be
customer facing and be willing to travel extensively to meet with customers face to face to sell, negotiate, and sign contracts. Being able to close a deal is an essential skill. An understanding of costs and margins is critical. The existing Broadbent Thailand team supports the Managing Director and similarly, the Managing Director must drive & motivate the team. Liaison with the head office in the UK is crucial and the UK will support the Managing Director to the best of their abilities to make the role a success.
For candidates applying from outside Thailand, a remuneration package will be provided including:
I. Cost of relocation.
II. Company vehicle.
III. Competitive salary

For candidates in Thailand, the same remuneration package will be offered excluding relocation costs.
The ideal candidate will have experience of running a business and have established connections in at least one of the key markets served by Broadbent Thailand. Experience in centrifuges or rotating equipment and the corresponding supply chain would be highly advantageous.
Other companies within the Broadbent Group include Broadbent Inc (USA), Broadbent India, and Broadbent China each performing a similar role in their respective markets. There is potential for growth of Broadbent Thailand and candidates with a track record in business development will be considered favourably.
