Teaching Personnel are working with a fantastic school in the East Sussex area that are looking for a Science Technician to complement the work of their already existing Technician Team.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a passion for working within education to drive forward improvements for students. The correct person for this role will be flexible, reliable and be able to remain calm under pressure, showing enthusiasm for working with staff, students and communicating with parents when necessary. An essential part of the role is that you are confident in ensuring the safety of all people on site, including yourself. This will include carrying out risk assessments relating to laboratory work and applying COSHH regulations and assessments.
Principal Accountabilities:
Under the direction of the Lead STEAM Technician and the Senior Science Technician, day to day you will be responsible for ensuring that all resources, technician staffing, and appropriate measures are taken to ensure that lessons in the Science departments can be undertaken to an excellent standard and that student learning can flourish.
Person Specification:
1. Previous experience as a technician with a secondary school would be desirable but not essential
2. A degree in science would be desirable but not essential
3. Strong GCSE and A levels (essential)
4. Good understanding of Health and Safety issues
5. Excellent ICT skills, with excellent communication skills that are both oral and written
6. Confident in working as part of a team and independently.
