About the Role
A growing multi-utilities contractor is seeking a skilled Field Technician to join their Water Department supporting projects across Warrington and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for someone with direct experience working on live water networks and engaging with customers in a professional and service-oriented manner.
You’ll play a vital role in the maintenance and performance of the water infrastructure, working closely with operational teams and end-users to ensure quality, reliability, and safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance activities on water mains and valves, ensuring operational integrity
* Perform customer sampling and quality checks in line with water safety regulations
* Conduct leakage detection and repair support on the clean water network
* Carry out meter reading duties accurately and efficiently
* Liaise with customers to address service issues, access needs, and routine works
* Install, test, and commission clean water services where required
* Complete site risk assessments and maintain compliance with H&S procedures
* Maintain clear and accurate documentation, including sampling logs and work reports
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* Proven experience working on clean water networks (mains and service pipes)
* Confident in customer-facing roles, with good communication skills
* Experience with sampling, leakage detection, and valve operations
* EUSR National Water Hygiene card
* NRSWA (Streetworks) certification
* SHEA Water and/or CSCS card
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Strong understanding of water regulations and network procedures
Desirable
* WIAPS / TAPS approved
* Confined Space certification
* GIS/GPS equipment familiarity
* Background in multi-utility environments
