Gloucestershire Health & Care Foundation Trust provides care for approximately 600,000 adults, children, and young people across Gloucestershire, including community inpatient and outpatient services, public health nursing, community nursing, and therapy staff.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, skilled Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Integrated Community Team (ICT) in the Stroud District. The ICT consists of Community Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and the Home First/Reablement Team. We work collaboratively with the wider MDT within our service and our Integrated Care System (ICS) partners to enable individuals to remain as well and independent as possible within their own homes.
In this role, you will have opportunities to gain experience working in urgent community response work, falls response, as well as the management of long-term conditions and housing adaptations. This team is ideal for exploring a broad spectrum of service areas in the community, allowing you to build a diverse skill set and widen your practice experience.
As this is a community role, a valid driving licence and a vehicle insured for business use is essential.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will participate in the leadership of the team and support junior members of staff to provide a high standard of care to patients in their own individualised environment through your example and guidance. To excel in this role, you will require excellent communication skills, the courage to make clinical decisions, and a willingness to develop your potential and those in your team. You will require current HCPC registration and post-registration experience, preferably in a community setting though this is not essential.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered with HCPC
* Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
* Full UK Driving Licence & business insured vehicle
Experience
* Solid experience as an occupational therapist, and the ability to demonstrate relevant experience in the field of rehabilitation
* Demonstrate leadership skills in relation to motivating team and resolving operational and personal problems
Skills
* Effective communication skills - (both written and verbal), informal and formal
* Ability to explain complex information, in relation to assessed needs, including adaptations, legislation, and Care Act 2014
