Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately owned main contractor with several operating divisions; Construction, Fit Out, Small Works, Retail, Housing, Maintenance and Manufactured Joinery. We employ over 220 people with offices in the East and West of Scotland.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. You will work closely with our project teams to ensure financial efficiency and value for money while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Role & Responsibilities
Working with a team of surveyors within the company the main roles and responsibilities will include:
1. Working closely with Contracts Management and Estimating departments to ensure commercial viability of contracts.
2. Taking active role in our Supply Chain Management Initiative to ensure relationships are developed with subcontractors.
3. Ensuring all monthly valuations and final accounts are submitted and agreed with clients within agreed timescales.
4. Responsibility for cash flow and monthly management reporting.
5. Fully embracing the companies Customers 1st campaign to continually improve the way we deal with our customers.
Candidate
The ideal candidate will:
6. Have experience in a Quantity Surveying role within a main contractor is preferred but not essential.
7. Be comfortable with working with minimum of supervision and have the ability to solve problems by acting on own initiative.
8. Be IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
9. Be able to show track record of profitability on projects you have worked on.
