If you're a creative, pro-active communicator, who can convey compelling Consumer Brand stories, we want to hear from you We have a new position in our North Europe Communications Team for a Public Relations Manager to manage our public relations activities in the UK & Ireland, develop engaging angles, stories and content, and maintain and expand our network in the media. Your goal will be to strengthen brand presence and perception of VELUX and create more relevancy for product solutions in the UK and Ireland. You'll be part of a collaborative international Marketing team that spans Northern Europe in the UK and Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Scandinavia. You'll bring previous experience of consumer-facing Brand Development and management, and GBI-specific market knowledge to the team to enhance our storytelling in the UK & Ireland and the wider North Europe Region. You'll be the first point of contact for our media contacts, press, and influencers, and will actively seek out and develop creative approaches to enhancing our relationships and networks. We are currently in the process of finding a new office location in London where you will be based, so until that location is confirmed, you will be home-based. Once we have secured an office location, you will work at least 3 days a week in the office. Therefore, you will need to live within a commutable distance of Central London. Some travel within the London area should be expected, as well as occasional travel across Europe for team meetings and conferences. In this role, you will: Media Relations: Manage VELUX's public relations activities in the Region, with a focus on the UK and Ireland. Create and distribute press releases, articles, and other PR materials. Build and maintain relationships with media representatives and influencers. Lead and collaborate closely with our agencies for different markets and countries Support the corporate communications team to promote sustainability. Develop and implement communication strategies that credibly represent the transformation to a more sustainable company. Actively monitor press coverage, public discussion and topics, local building regulations and identify opportunities and threats for VELUX Storytelling and Content Creation: Develop compelling and emotional stories that highlight the benefits of VELUX products. Create content that creates a desire for more daylight and fresh air and demonstrates how VELUX products transform and enhance living spaces. Brand Positioning: Position the VELUX brand as a B2C brand in the lifestyle, interior design, and home environment sectors. Develop and implement creative concepts for brand positioning. Create angles, approaches, events and partnerships that raise visibility for VELUX, use brand/image transfer and create content. Network Maintenance: Maintain and expand the network of journalists and media contacts. Pitch relevant topics to the appropriate media target groups. Team Collaboration: Work in a small, dynamic, international team focused on creative solutions. Collaborate intensively with marketing, the global headquarters in Denmark, and other international PR teams. Close collaboration with Marketing communication on thematic campaigns Stakeholder mapping and nurturing of key multipliers in the UK & Ireland (journalists, influencers, NGO’s etc.) To be effective in this role, you will need: Either: previous PR Management experience (agency-side or in-house), ideally overseeing B2C Brands, or; experience working in the press or media as a journalist. Advanced oral and written communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and experience with editorial use of PR tools and techniques. High creativity, initiative, and the ability to develop and implement new ideas. Significant networking capabilities, especially in the areas of living/interior design and sustainability. Great presentation skills and the ability to coordinate and align topics on an international level. Preferably an existing network with journalists in the UK and Ireland. Good IT skills and familiarity with common PR software. Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
