Job Description:
This senior role will take accountability for maximizing category performance through strategic range and stock planning for seasonal collections. Working with the wider merchandising team to ensure smooth production placement & intake planning. An exciting opportunity to join a growing merchandising team and implement new best practices and processes to facilitate the next stage of business growth.
This role is based full time in our Chesterfield Office.
Responsibilities:
1. Construct & aid presentation of company range plans ensuring accurate buy plans & financial roll ups by category and channels. Review pricing hierarchy and margin for pre-season sign off.
2. Recommend product range structures, including option count and range depth, through data analytics.
3. Review sales and forecast future demand for all sales channels, planning the order volumes to achieve sales budgets.
4. Responsible for demand planning seasonal collections lines within the business, meeting availability targets & working with product teams to ensure commercial exit strategies.
5. Provide forward visibility of stock intake & inventory holding reports.
6. Review in season stock opportunities and stock out risks ensuring category profitability is maximized.
7. Ensure merchandising calendar and critical path deadlines are met to achieve stock delivery on time in full, providing forecast information to achieve where needed.
8. Line management of Merchandiser, overseeing direct channel processes & replenishment.
9. Review and present weekly ecom & retail trade performance into the business.
10. Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reports for business use.
11. Build strong working relationships with supply base & internal functions.
Experience and Skills:
1. Previous experience within a similar role for an Apparel business.
2. Strong analytical skills, ability to build reports, track performance, knowledge of forecast principles & implement demand planning practices.
3. Proficiency in merchandising tools and software including Excel & Inventory management systems.
4. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, able to collaborate effectively with other teams and external partners.
5. Ability to work independently as well as within a fast-paced team.
