A successful university campus is about so much more than buildings. It’s about the environment, the atmosphere, the people – creating a sense of home that will help students feel safe, secure, and help them thrive. At UPP, we understand just how important this is and that’s why at each of the universities we partner with we have a dedicated onsite team offering a range of facilities management services designed to support the safety of the building and ensure students enjoy a high quality of life throughout their stay.
Here at UPP we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist to join our team here in Exeter.
The Receptionist will efficiently run the Reception Desk, using a computerised system that controls a real time helpdesk for our maintenance work.
This is a one-year fixed term, part-time position working 30 hours per week. The main role involves working 5 days Monday to Friday on a rota covering the hours of 8am – 8pm. However, one of our Reception operating hours are 8am – 11pm Monday to Sunday and you will be required to work an occasional shift to assist with the rota in that area. The salary is £19,874.40 per annum.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Provide an excellent and comprehensive reception service to the residence and to the offices; logging mail and parcels for the residents, keeping records of all visitors, contractors and issue keys when required.
2. Assist the relevant manager(s) in the co-ordination of all on-site activities and day to day administration plus complete all regular reporting.
3. Carry out regular walks of the residence and grounds, monitoring and reporting any security/safety issues to the relevant manager.
4. Manage and monitor out of hours access to the residence, ensuring compliance with fire, health & safety procedures and any relevant residence instructions.
5. Liaise, as necessary, with other UPP employees, university clients, sub-contractors and students.
We are looking for you to have experience in a similar role and environment with great communication and organisation skills, along with an attention to detail and the passion to work as a team to deliver excellent customer service.
You will also be flexible to work (with notice) additional hours when the need arises, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
We truly care about the experience of our residents and invite you to join our friendly and passionate team to help make a positive difference to students living away from home in our accommodation.
What We Offer:
In return, we are offering a fun and interesting environment to work in with a competitive salary and a great benefits package which includes 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life insurance, pension, training, two paid volunteering days each year, travel season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme, store discounts, as well as discounts from a variety of top retailers, restaurants gyms and more.
