Key Responsibilities:
1. Consulting with clients to understand their requirements
2. Conducting feasibility studies to vet proposed projects
3. Calculating quantities and costs for materials, labour, and timeframes
4. Preparing tender packages and contracts, including bills of quantities
5. Managing risk, value engineering, and cost control measures
6. Analysing repair and maintenance costs
7. Negotiating contracts and schedules
8. Overseeing and valuing subcontractors' work for payments
9. Ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards
10. Continually assessing value for the client's investment
11. Analysing outcomes and providing budget and progress reports
12. Advising on claims, disputes, and any contractual issues
Job Requirements:
1. Experience in quantity surveying, particularly within the highways sector
2. Strong knowledge of cost estimation, material needs calculation, and project timeline mapping
3. Understanding of procurement, tendering, and contract administration
4. Ability to conduct feasibility studies and provide lifecycle costing
5. Excellent negotiation and risk management skills
6. Proficiency in preparing tender packages and managing subcontractor payments
7. Strong analytical skills to assess project outcomes and provide progress reports
8. Knowledge of relevant legal and quality standards
