Are you a hands-on Electrical Engineer looking to make an impact in a fast-paced industrial environment? We are seeking a skilled problem solver with strong troubleshooting abilities to support and maintain electrical systems in our paper pulp mill. This role offers direct involvement in plant operations, ensuring electrical reliability, compliance, and optimization to enhance production efficiency and minimize downtime.
Your Role & Impact:
* Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting – Diagnose, repair, and maintain motors, drives, transformers, switchgear, and power distribution systems.
* System Reliability & Optimization – Develop preventive & predictive maintenance programs (PM/PdM) to improve system performance.
* Automation & Controls – Support PLC & DCS control systems, including troubleshooting, programming, and upgrades.
* Process Support – Work closely with production teams to ensure electrical systems function efficiently without unplanned downtime.
* Compliance & Safety – Ensure adherence to OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and industry standards while conducting arc flash risk assessments and safety training.
What You Bring:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within a pulp mill or heavy industrial setting.
* Expertise in high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems, transformers, circuit breakers, and motor controls.
* Strong PLC/DCS troubleshooting & programming skills (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Honeywell).
* Ability to read & interpret schematics, P&ID diagrams, and technical manuals.
* Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking work orders.
* A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills & root cause analysis (RCA) experience.
Bonus Points For:
* Experience with medium-voltage (MV) & high-voltage (HV) power distribution.
* Certifications like PE, CMRP, or ISA CCST.
* Previous experience in a unionized work environment.
