We are looking for a Production Operative to join our team in Sherborne.
Overall function and description of the job
To inspect and grade both treated and greige fabrics in accordance with company inspection methods and procedures, recording results whilst operating re-roll/inspection machinery or as an on-plant/on-loom inspector. This includes maximising efficiency and optimising quality standards throughout.
Main duties:
· Inspecting material to the appropriate quality standards.
· Maintaining efficient level of production, through efficient and responsible inspection.
· Ensuring that the correct inspection policies and procedures are applied during inspection.
· Communicate recurring faults and production area issues to management.
· Ensuring the correct completion of all production paperwork; including roll tickets, production orders, inspection orders, labels, etc.
· Assist on production ranges whilst cutting operations are undertaken.
· Make constant checks/inspection on the quality of fabric and record results.
· Ensure fabric/rolls meet requirements.
· Make checks to machinery and where required make adjustments to improve quality and efficiency.
· Loading/unloading fabric.
· Cutting fabric to the required specifications.
· Cover tasks in other areas as required
· To carry out basic maintenance on machinery i.e., lubrication, cleaning etc.
· Examine completed materials for defects.
· Measure completed materials to ensure they meet specifications and requirements.
Various shift patterns are available.
