Salary: £49,374.28 (includes Basic salary Shift allowance Contractual overtime of 30 minutes Per week) potential bonus other companywide fantastic benefits Position Summary We have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Technician to work in our Fill and Pack department reporting to the Maintenance Engineer. The Key focus of this department is to ensure that our products are sustainably transferred to our packaging lines, including Glass, sachets, and other Recyclable products. This Department is a constant hive of activity as it is the recipient from two different departments with 2 very specialist products, within this part of the factory there is a Large Variety of state-of-the-art equipment and technology that needs to be maintained and continually improved using your invaluable skills and the existing Department skills. The Nestlé Tutbury Factory in Derbyshire is one of the largest Nestlé factories in Europe after circa £500 million investment over the last few years. The factory is a Centre of excellence for Nescafé products around the world producing freeze-dried, spray dried and pod coffee technologies and is at the forefront of coffee innovation globally. The factory is moving forward with continuous improvement principles and actively developing Lean/TPM processes so it's an exciting time to be involved. A day in the life of an Engineering Technician This Key role in the Fill and Pack Maintenance Team means you will be part our front-line response to tackling the ever-evolving needs of our exciting department, playing a key part in the move from reactive to proactive maintenance. You will be responsible for the maintenance of filling packaging equipment and systems in accordance with health and safety, quality and food hygiene standards. In addition to these duties, you would be expected to - Support with the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of all equipment and, when required, provide quick and effective reactive breakdown maintenance of site equipment. - Reduce breakdowns and improve equipment efficiency - You will be working to optimise maintenance of machinery and assets, by feeding back necessary improvements to the frequency and content of the maintenance activities. - You will be required to record all work activities to a detailed level for the purposes of looking after all aspects of cost, efficiency, quality and maintenance activities. - Raising purchase orders where required, liaising with the Maintenance coordinator to ensure that appropriate stock levels are maintained within budgetary constraints. - Support maintenance engineers to complete remedial actions from Compliance audits. What will make you successful? - Must have an NVQ Level 3 and National Certificate or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent. (please ensure detailed on CV) - You will ideally have completed time served Engineering apprenticeship (please ensure detailed on CV) - Ideally you will be dual trained (mechanical and electrical) with proven experience in manufacturing.
