What will be your role in the company?
The Production Support Manager will support the Production core team in overseeing the successful delivery of the modifications program, ensuring the resolution of snags and defect closeouts pending from PA (Provisional Acceptance), and working according to a program agreed upon with the client and the MSA team.
Additionally, the Production Support Manager will also support mobilisation plans and oversee the execution of overhaul services, ensuring they are completed within budget and schedule.
The role will also involve managing additional services as needed and providing support in response to fleet service disruptions as required.
Daily duties include:
* Responsible for planning and supervising the implementation of all activities related to vandalism, in coordination with the Senior Production Manager and the Production team.
* Liaise with Performance and Production teams, clients, and other key stakeholders to deliver the vehicles for passenger service in line with the agreed plans.
* Collaborate with the Performance and Maintenance Engineering teams to ensure the prompt definition and continuous optimisation of the required Bill of Materials (BOM), with a special focus on overhauls and modifications.
* In close cooperation with the Production Engineers and the Chester LeadMind Hub, identify ongoing or potential fleet issues and propose mitigation measures or solutions in coordination with the Performance Team and the CAF Spain DIP coordinator.
* Maintain full alignment with the Project LEO (Líder de Excelencia Operativa-Leader of Operational Excellence) by providing all necessary inputs and supporting improvement initiatives within the RSNEXT program or future projects.
* Assist the Health and Safety Advisor in developing and reviewing RAMS and site-specific method statements, actively participate in inspections and audits, support management in implementing safety policies and procedures while setting an example, ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines, and produce necessary documentation to maintain site safety standards.
What salary will you be paid for this role?
As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary in the region of £50,000 per annum.
What will make you successful in this position?
To succeed in this role you will need:
* Level 6 Engineering Degree or higher. Exceptionally strong and relevant experience may also be taken into consideration.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in Rolling Stock.
* Good understanding of onboard vehicle systems and components.
* Proven previous experience in production planning.
* Experience in modification projects.
* Experience in live testing after modifications.
