Contract Duration: 1 Caretaker required, initially from April 2025 to August 2025
Ysgol Bryn Derw are seeking to appoint a caretaker to work 20 hours a week between 7am to 9am and 4pm to 6pm Monday to Friday, for 52 weeks per year. Holidays are to be taken during school holiday periods.
Ysgol Bryn Derw opened in September 2017 for young people aged 3-19 who have been diagnosed with ASD and associated complex learning needs. The school has 111 pupils across 2 sites (in Gaer and Bettws) and aims to provide the highest possible standards of education and support for all its pupils regardless of their level of educational need. We are looking for a committed caretaker who will thrive on this exciting opportunity and who will be able to engage with and work alongside the specific needs of the pupils in this specialised setting.
Minimum Requirements:
* Has good literacy and numeracy skills
* Has good communication skills
* Has experience of caretaking or experience of premises management, building cleaning or building maintenance
* Is flexible
* Is able to use own initiative
* Is able to carry out general repairs
* Is able to lift and carry heavy items
* Has excellent interpersonal skills
* Is able to manage own work effectively
