The Uncommon Practice are looking for an IT Administrator to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our IT infrastructure, ensuring its smooth operation, security, and alignment with the company's strategic objectives.

The Uncommon Practice are an accounting and consulting firm, shaking up the traditional world of professional services.
We have grown rapidly, and expect to grow significantly in size in the coming months. We are based in Redwither Tower, Wrexham Industrial Estate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning and Alignment:
– With external support develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives.
– Collaborate with senior management to identify IT needs, opportunities, and risks.
– Provide strategic guidance and technical advice to support decision-making processes.
2. IT Infrastructure Management:
– Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, systems, and security.
– Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of IT systems and services.
– Implement and maintain best practices for IT operations, security, and compliance.
3. Project Management:
– With external support plan, prioritise, and execute IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
– Establish project timelines, budgets, and resources.
– Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery within scope and budget.
4. Team Leadership and Development:
– Provide IT guidance, IT support, and be able to provide stakeholders with IT performance feedback.
– Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
5. Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
– Manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
– Together with the Board of Directors negotiate contracts, agreements, and service level agreements.
– Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their IT requirements and priorities.
6. IT Governance and Compliance:
– Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards.
– Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
– Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate IT risks.
7. Budget and Resource Management:
– Develop and manage the IT budget, including forecasting, allocation, and tracking of expenses.
– Optimise resource utilization and cost-effectiveness while delivering high-quality IT services.
– Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and investment in new technologies.
We anticipate engaging with an external fractional IT Director to support at Director level.
Salary, Qualifications and Experience
This role will have a pay bracket of between £27k and £35k.
At the upper end of that bracket candidates would be expected to have the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, with a proven track record of success in leading complex IT projects and teams.
3. Strong technical expertise in areas such as network infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into IT solutions.
6. Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships effectively.
We will consider all applicants, even those without the above qualifications, although any offer will be commensurate with the candidates level of qualification.
All candidates should be able to demonstrate some experience of dealing with IT within previous roles.
Location and Flexibility
This is a hybrid role. Our offices are in Wrexham. We expect employees to be present in our Wrexham office on Mondays, and then to use their discretion for the rest of the week between on site and remote working.
