The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity awaits an experienced and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a progressive practice near Darlington. This role is ideal for an RVN who takes pride in providing personalised care, supporting every patient as if they were their own. Working with a variety of pets, from dogs and cats to rabbits and other small animals, this position offers a rewarding chance to make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners.
With a commitment to investing in the future of animal care, the practice is also a Veterinary Nurse Training Centre, so you'll have ample opportunity to further your skills and professional development in a friendly and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide high-quality nursing care, from routine checks to assisting with advanced procedures.
2. Support with surgeries, performing pre- and post-op care to ensure the best possible outcomes.
3. Conduct nurse-led consultations, offering advice on weight management, behaviour issues, and preventative care.
4. Operate diagnostic equipment, including ECG and ultrasound, to assist in comprehensive patient assessments.
5. Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to uphold a compassionate and supportive environment for clients and their pets.
6. Contribute to the training and mentoring of student veterinary nurses, supporting the practice's role as a Training Centre.
Requirements
1. Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS) with a passion for delivering quality care.
2. A commitment to continuous learning and development in the latest veterinary techniques.
3. Excellent communication skills and a strong team player.
4. Comfortable working with a variety of animals, including smaller pets like rabbits and guinea pigs.

Working Hours
Full-time around 40 hours per week
1:7 night or weekend rota hours from 5pm to 9am. This is paid additional as salary is paid per hour.
