Npower Business Solutions (nBS) powered by E.ON is a leading £5 billion revenue business with a vision to become the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK. We serve approximately 60,000 customers and manage around 300,000 meter points in the Industrial and Commercial (I&C) sector. We are seeking a talented Senior Solution Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Solution Architect, you will play a crucial role in owning the IT solution design for the I&C business, driving the I&C IT solution roadmap, and ensuring the alignment of IT solutions with business requirements. This role is permanent and ideally based out of Solihull.
Senior Solutions Architect
Here's what you'll be doing
* Take overall responsibility for the end-to-end functional landscapes and solutions design, including functional integration points.
* Own the IT solution design for the I&C business, driving the I&C IT solution roadmap.
* Provide IT architectural governance for I&C, ensuring compliance with architectural standards and best practices.
* Translate business requirements into IT system application or process designs, covering both functional and non-functional aspects.
* Collaborate with the I&C business teams and Change Management to ensure the design and deployment of the right IT solutions.
* Provide architectural direction to implementation teams and third parties during solution design.
* Act as an intermediary across various delivery teams and architecture capabilities to ensure overall alignment to the IT roadmap.
* Identify continual service improvements to I&C IT architecture.
* Work with E.ON & UK Digital Technology Architecture teams to maintain I&C architectural delivery roadmaps.
* Maintain a complete view of the overall I&C systems landscape and the roadmap required for sustainability.
* Actively participate in architectural governance activities within I&C.
* Manage the risks associated with architectural decision making through appropriate risk management standards and policies.
* Collaborate with the DT&C Leadership team to deliver a relative reduction in Total Cost of Ownership in I&C.
* Maintain all relevant details in the Architectural Tool (currently Lean IX) and execute processes to manage asset information.
What we need from you
* Significant experience of working with and providing architectural governance to third-party providers in a predominantly outsourced environment.
* Demonstrable experience of leading and developing architectural integrity.
* Deep understanding of key technologies.
* Strong track record of leading IT architecture activities in a complex multi-application/multi-project IT landscape.
* Strong understanding and application of architectural modeling techniques.
* Ability to perform a critical role in the delivery and development of continuous improvements within IT architecture.
* Highly complex problem-solving and strong analytical skills.
* Ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior business and IT stakeholders, with strong stakeholder management skills.
* Understanding/experience of how IT service components integrate to form business services.
* Sound understanding of project lifecycles and phases.
* Ability to estimate the financial impact of solution options.
* Ability to apply multiple solutions to business problems.
* Ability to translate business requirements into IT solution options.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of the Energy Industry within the UK and its impact on architecture.
* Experience with formal Architecture Frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, FEA, or similar.
* Good knowledge and experience of ITIL/SIAM processes, application, and architectural integration.
* Experience using architecture tools such as LeanIX or similar.
* Architecture-related certification (TOGAF, CITA, Microsoft, or similar).
