There is also a dedicated Fracture Clinic at SRH. The successful candidate will be an experienced nurse with a background specialised in Orthopaedics or another surgical speciality, with proven leadership skills and the vision and passion to help develop the service and optimise high quality patient care. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered, ensure the efficient running of the ward, effectively leading, motivating, supervising and directing staff to ensure that time and resources are managed through effective teamwork. Main duties of the job The Ward Manager will be required to co-ordinate all functions and activities within this specialist clinical environment. The role includes working closely with the Orthopaedic and Orthogeriatric Consultants, colleagues in our other Orthopaedic wards and departments, ED, Theatres, and other services throughout the Trust. The Ward Manager, working alongside the Matron and a full complement of Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants and ward administration support, will provide strong leadership and foster excellent communication, teamwork and collaboration with all colleagues, in order to consistently deliver excellent patient care to all service users.
