Data Lead
CIRCA £80,000 DOE

The Data Lead will build and lead the organisation's data engineering capability, ensuring a scalable, cost-effective platform that supports the company’s ambition to be data-led. Initially, the role will focus on transforming the existing data warehouse into a GCP-based analytics platform, integrating system and client APIs, and preparing for AI/ML adoption.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
* Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to optimise data usage.
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data infrastructure for performance and cost.
* Ensure data security, compliance, and proper documentation.
* Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
Role Requirements
* Strong SQL skills and experience with database management systems.
* Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP Preferred).
* Experience with API development, CI/CD, and workflow management tools.
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Reporting & Working Style
* Reports to the Head of Data and Analytics.
* Hybrid role with remote work and occasional UK site visits (2-3 days per week).
* Responsible for delivering a strategic data roadmap and ensuring smooth IT integration.
