About The Role
Due to expansion, we have two exciting opportunities to join our Equity Release Underwriting Team.
(One permanent and one 12-month fixed term contract).
You will maintain a profitable, balanced book of equity release mortgages through the underwriting and lending decisions made. To achieve this, you will assist the Lead Underwriter in processing pre-application queries and underwriting valuations, in line with the LV= Equity Release Lending Policy.
Linked to our Hitchin offices, we would like you in the offices full time when training and then 2-3 days per week, offering Hybrid working.
Key Accountabilities
1. Pre-application queries and Decisions in Principle.
2. Underwriting applications to review and action.
3. Providing support to Sales and Operational areas on lending matters.
4. Updating Lending Policy (inc. Lending Policy Guide, Decision in Principle Form, Underwriting Checklist).
5. Working with Surveyors, IFA’s and brokers to gather information.
Skills & Experience
1. ER1 (ideally or willing to work towards this).
2. Previous mortgage or equity release underwriting experience ideally.
3. Proven ability to work under own initiative in a proactive and regulatory style.
4. Willingness to work autonomously.
5. Proven ability to work to work to deadlines and strong attention to detail.
6. Experience of managing relationships and communicating with third-party organisations.
