We are seeking to recruit an IT Analyst to join the NDORMS IT Team and assist the Head of IT Support in improving and delivering effective IT services at NDORMS, which comprises of the Botnar Research Centre, Kadoorie Centre, Kennedy Institute, and other small sites on the Nuffield and Old Road Campus sites. You will predominantly be first-line desktop support for all staff and students in the department.
The IT infrastructure at NDORMS currently consists of over 600 desktops and laptops across multiple sites, which primarily run Windows 10, 11 and macOS 15.2 onward. Staff and students at NDORMS use a variety of research-specific software (e.g. SPSS, Stata, EndNote, GraphPad PRISM) as well as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud. The IT Support Officer will maintain this IT infrastructure, directed and supported by the Head of NDORMS IT Support when required, and help ensure information published on the intranet is up to date. IT support is also provided in collaboration with MSD IT as well as the University’s IT Services.
You will unpack, register in the asset database, image and set up new desktop/laptop computers for all users, as well as licensing, installing, updating and supporting a variety of software on computers. You will be expected to assist in resolving issues with MFDs/printers, resetting user passwords and unlocking user accounts, whilst providing excellent customer service to all IT users within the department and have a friendly and approachable manner.
You should be educated to A Level standard or an equivalent level of education as well as have a broad experience of setting up and supporting a large number of computers (notably Windows and macOS). Experience of troubleshooting a variety of hardware and software problems in a medium to large office environment and the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload is essential.
Experience of working in a research environment is desirable.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
