Role: MEICA Engineering Coordinator

Rate: £500 - £550 p/d (Inside IR35)

Are you able to coordinate MEICA resources across large infrastructure projects, including bridging design and delivery teams? Have you got a strong M&E Project Management or Project Engineering experience in the Water/Wastewater sector?
The contractor we are looking to help source an Engineering Lead for their MEICA framework is looking to strengthen their operations team for a large project funded by Southern Water. Based at a large clean water site, you will take total responsibility for the delivery of MEICA at this location, working alongside the operational & delivery team. You will be directly involved in helping improve water quality for hundreds of thousands of residents across the area, in a prestigious project for the client.
This position will cover working alongside pre-construction and delivery teams, internally and externally. You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager, and the duties/responsibilities of the role will include:
1. Take full ownership of the MEICA process, ensuring quality and consistency from the initial identification of project requirements through to the final commissioning handover.
2. Responsibilities during the design phase include:
1. Outline design - setting guidelines for the Project Engineers to provide early MEICA input during design development and option evaluation.
2. Detailed design - creating a standardized process for reviewing design submissions from the supply chain.
3. Collaborate with Heads of Design to assess the quality, timeliness, and consistency of design outputs. Build relationships with designers and suppliers to enhance delivery.
4. Assist Programme Managers with resource planning, addressing key MEICA issues as they arise, and overseeing MEICA construction and quality matters.
5. Work closely with Programme Managers, the Procurement Manager, and Ops Lead to define a comprehensive procurement strategy for MEICA across the framework.
6. Take managerial responsibility for Project Engineers and M&E Supervisors across the framework.
7. Regularly meet with Regional Delivery Leads to ensure the consistent delivery of MEICA work.
8. Ensure all projects comply with National and Local Technical Standards.
9. Engage regularly with MEICA teams to review performance and provide feedback. Implement processes and practices that drive excellence in project execution.
10. Deliver frequent progress reports to senior management and stakeholders, focusing on key milestones, risks, and challenges.
11. Proactively identify potential risks associated with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation systems.
12. Carefully plan the Southern Water SCO procedure to maintain site compliance. The MEICA Manager will chair meetings to review and mitigate risks.
13. Be thoroughly familiar with the terms of MEICA subcontractor contracts, and identify any risks connected to their processes or methods.
14. Ensure all projects are delivered with zero incidents related to Health & Safety and Environmental impact, and show a strong commitment to adhering to Health, Safety & Welfare, and Environmental Policies.
15. Develop and introduce innovative processes to ensure the consistent delivery of MEICA projects.
About The Candidate
Essential:
1. Demonstrated experience leading a large team of MEICA professionals.
2. Extensive experience in managing MEICA operations.
3. In-depth experience in the water/wastewater sectors.
4. Proven ability to lead large teams in environments with multiple suppliers.
5. Strong knowledge of construction contract law and various contract forms, gained through both experience and formal training.
6. The ability to influence internal stakeholders and steer the MEICA strategy effectively.
