SEN Teaching Assistants, Support Workers, Personal Care, Autism, Mental Health and Behaviour Mentors – Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualified
Location: Oldbury
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am- 3:30pm (day to day, short & long term)
£83 - £87 a day depending on experience.
We are currently recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants within a Secondary Special Needs Schools around Birmingham & Oldbury. This will involve working 1:1 with children with Extremely Challenging Behaviour, Autism, ADHD, Aggression, SLD, PMLD, Looked After Children, those who are at risk of harm to themselves or others as well as individuals with attachment difficulties.
Due to the children’s requirements and personal circumstances experienced support workers (Mental Health, care and youth), security, residential, SEN trained TAs, children’s services and sports coaches will be favoured.
About the role:
Providing 1:1 behaviour support to pupils with challenging behaviour and SEN requirements including SLD and PMLD.
Implementing appropriate structures to manage challenging behaviour, always being pro-active and engaging.
Acting like a positive role model and providing nurture support
Providing numeracy and literacy booster sessions out of the classroom
De-escalating heightened and volatile situations.
