As a Construction Support Technician apprentice, you will be predominantly site-based working with our delivery teams to ensure efficient execution of the construction phase. You will get involved in versatile activities using digital processes and systems to secure future projects and enable progress and completion of actual construction sites.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Working alongside our experienced staff, you will support with the coordination of construction site-based projects alongside supervisory and technical teams.
* You will have the opportunity to assist in the production of risk assessments and method statements as well as with the development of estimates relevant to the project.
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, you will ensure records of communications are kept up-to-date and accurate contractual records are maintained.
* Using technical drawings, you will support with the production of resource lists based on estimates. You will identify requirements and implement progress reports, early warning notifications, and compensation events.
* You will be taught how to undertake the procurement of project materials, plant, and sub-contractors.

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

South Gloucestershire and Stroud College
The apprenticeship is programmed to be delivered on a weekly day release learning during term time only over the 24-months of training. This requires attendance to South Gloucestershire and Stroud Horizon, Units E & F, Taurus Road, Filton, BS34 6FE. The council will cover your travel expenses.
