Currently, we are seeking a dedicated Senior SHEQ Advisor to join our dynamic Health and Safety team.
The Role
To work alongside the SHEQ Director in developing and implementing company strategies and objectives that ensure the ongoing health and safety and wellbeing of the company and staff. Assisting the SHEQ Director in managing, planning, and allocating resources that ensure effective companywide management of health and safety, quality control, environmental, and fire risk management policies.
Work alongside the FRA Manager to ensure the efficient running and implementation of our fire risk management processes and procedures in line with the requirements of the Building Safety Act and other Fire safety related legislation. To assist in the ongoing maintenance of our third party certified awards and to liaise with external agencies used by the organisation.
Summary of Responsibilities and Personal Duties:
* Attend where necessary various internal or external meetings to agree, develop and implement company objectives.
* Maintain clear reporting lines to the SHEQ director on the overall performance of those staff reporting to the post holder.
* Work closely with the SHEQ Director in the development and implementation of companywide SHEQ and Fire related policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements:
Knowledge
* Understanding of costs and financial impacts to the wider business and operations
* A thorough knowledge of relevant health, safety, and fire legislation, policies, and procedures
* A good working knowledge of environmental legislation, policies, and procedures
* Use knowledge to provide consultative advice and recommendations within the specific functional area
* Minimum NEBOSH Construction certificate.
* Desirable NEBOSH Diploma level 6 certificate (or equivalent)
* Minimum Certified member of IOSH
* Desirable Chartered member of IOSH
Experience
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Hold a valid driving licence
* Experience of developing and delivering health and safety training courses

Desirable Requirements:
* Level 3 EAT qualification or higher (or equivalent)
* CISRS card holder, basic or advanced scaffold inspection
* First aid at work
* Working knowledge of environmental legislation
* Experience in dealing with a wide variety of customers and trade personnel
* Experience of working with ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 management systems
Additional Information:
* An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be conducted at the company's expense.
* Salary range: £55,000 per annum.
* Working hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a one-hour break for lunch.
* Annual leave entitlement of 21 days, in addition to bank holidays.
* Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
* Tracked company vehicle & fuel card will be provided for business use.
* Initial six month probationary period.
