About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Psychology lessons specifically at Key Stage 5 (likely A-Level), covering core areas of the curriculum such as cognitive psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, biological psychology, research methods, and psychopathology. Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that incorporate case studies, research activities, ethical considerations, and critical analysis of psychological theories and studies relevant to the A-Level syllabus. Assess student progress through essays, presentations, research reports, and examinations at Key Stage 5, providing detailed and constructive feedback to support their academic development in Psychology. Contribute to the development of the Key Stage 5 Psychology curriculum and resources within the Social Sciences department. Foster an interest in Psychology beyond the classroom through discussions, debates, and potentially facilitating relevant extracurricular activities. Uphold and promote the values and ethos of a Catholic school within your teaching. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Psychology or a closely related field. Proven experience of successfully teaching Psychology at Key Stage 5 (A-Level), with a thorough understanding of the relevant syllabus and assessment requirements. A strong understanding of psychological research methods, ethical considerations in psychological research, and the ability to critically evaluate psychological theories and evidence. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate Sixth Form students in the study of Psychology. A passion for Psychology and a commitment to fostering students' understanding of human behaviour and mental processes within an ethical context.
