Position: Part-Time Religious Education (RE) Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Location: B14, Yardley Wood, Birmingham
Salary: £765 - £1,110 per week (dependent on experience) Contract: 2 days per week (Maternity Cover, 1 year)
Start Date: Early April 2024
About the Role
Connex Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated RE Teacher to join an outstanding mixed secondary sixth form school in South Birmingham, near the Kings Heath area. This is a part-time maternity cover position (2 days per week) for one year, starting in early April. The role involves teaching KS3 and KS4 RE and carrying out full teacher responsibilities within a happy and highly supportive humanities department.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and high-quality RE lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
* Take on full teaching responsibilities, including planning, marking, and assessment.
* Foster a positive learning environment and support students in their academic and personal development.
* Work collaboratively within the humanities department, contributing to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
Person Specification
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS or equivalent.
* Experience teaching RE at KS3 and KS4.
* Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
* A positive approach to using IT in the classroom.
* Excellent self-organisation and communication skills.
* Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
