TEAM
The Safety Team at Silverstone Circuit is dedicated to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all visitors, staff, contractors, and participants across the venue. This includes race events, corporate events, and general site operations. The faced paced operation of the team is like no other Safety Team, supporting Silverstone’s reputation as a premier motorsport and events venue.
JOB PURPOSE
Working in this fast-paced and multi-dimensional environment, the Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring Silverstone meet their legal and safety obligations across a number of departments to include but not limited to Catering, Venue, Driving Experiences, Corporate Events, Public Events, Construction Projects, Escapade, Karting Track, and other projects as required. This will include advising, monitoring, and assisting team members to ensure the business achieves best practice and legal compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage the overall compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
* Develop and maintain the health and safety manual ensuring it is kept up to date with legal requirements.
* Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place across the business to actively seek review and maintain the Safety Management System.
* Conduct safety audits throughout the business.
* Oversee departmental health and safety including monitoring and managing risk identification.
* Oversee and adjudicate day to day health and safety at Escapade.
* Oversee and manage day to day health and safety at the Karting Track
* Managing compliance with all relevant occupational safety regulations
* Manage relationships and correspondence with relevant EHO’s, and local authorities for Silverstone.
* Working closely with HR in specific health and safety requirements for staff such as return to work programmes, work related illnesses and specific risk assessments for those with additional support requirements.
* Departmental health and safety training
* Develop and support in delivery of health and safety training programmes for employees including induction training, manual handling and COSHH.
* Maintain and continually develop the site COSHH system.
* Monitor and ensure compliance with all UK H&S Legislation
* Support Fire Compliance Manager in conducting regular fire drills, reviewing effectiveness.
* Support the Event Health and Safety Manager in compliance through events and third-party activities. Supporting the Silverstone Circuits 365 24/7 calendar.
* Conduct accident and incident investigations and analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Act as the main point of contact for health and safety queries from employees.
* Act as Duty Manager at allocated events, often weekend or evenings.
TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
* Promote at all times the professional image of the company by ensuring high standards of both professionalism and personal presentation.
* Participate in staff training as required.
* Comply with company policies and health and safety requirements at all times, encouraging an awareness of health and safety requirements.
* Any additional responsibilities as reasonably required.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Qualified in Occupational Health and Safety (Masters, BSC, NEBOSH, CMIOSH, NVQ4) and certified membership of IOSH or equivalent.
* Conversant with COSHH, RIDDOR, DSE, DDA and PPE Requirements
* Knowledge and experience in executing Construction, Design and Management Regulations (2015).
* Relevant Health and Safety experience within a large-scale venue, events, and leisure environment is desirable.
